All doctors at Iona Medical Centre choose to bulk bill Commonwealth Seniors Health Card holders, Pension Concession Card holders, Health Care Card holders and children under 16 years of age. You must present your current concession card at the time of your appointment in order to be bulk billed.
Each doctor within the practice has set their own fees for private paying patients. Billing will depend upon the services provided during your consultation. An additional fee will be charged for accounts not settled on the day. Information on fees is available on request. As a guide, standard consultation fees range from $65.00 – $70.00, with a Medicare rebate of $38.20.
We accept payment by cash, cheque, Eftpos and Credit Card over the phone.
Please note that an account keeping fee of $20 will be added to all accounts not paid on the day.
For your convenience, we have the facilities to lodge your Medicare claim online. Please note that this service is only available to accounts paid on the day.
If you would like to know more information about Medicare rebates, or the item numbers used by this practice, please speak with reception staff, or visit the Medicare Benefits Schedule online.
When your doctor/practice nurse makes a referral or requests investigations for you, it is important to understand that it may result in an out-of-pocket expense. We can provide you with the contact details of the referred service provider so you can find out about costs for that service. Please speak with your doctor/practice nurse should you wish to access this.
